What are the benefits of neurodiversity and inclusion training?

There are many benefits of neurodiversity and inclusion training. At Illuminate Inclusion, our sessions are always facilitated by an expert in the field who can tailor your training to meet the exact requirements of your organisation. Our training packages are designed especially to help you:

  • Understand neurodiversity and what it means to be inclusive.

  • Develop inclusive practices and promote a culture of acceptance across your organisation.

  • Fulfill your corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and boost your brand image.

  • Ensure you are fully compliant with equality and diversity legislation.

  • Give neurodivergent individuals the support they need to thrive in their environment.

  • Improve staff wellbeing whilst increase productivity.

  • Target a wider consumer market by developing inclusive products and services that are accessible to all your customer and service users.

What are our legal obligations relating to inclusion and neurodiversity?

Under the Equality Act 2010, employers have a legal obligation to make reasonable adjustments to ensure those with a disability are not put at a disadvantage compared to non-disabled people in the workplace. These adjustments are essential through recruitment processes,

How many people can you accommodate in your training sessions?

Our in-person training is limited to 20 participants per session with one lead facilitator. Larger groups can be accommodated with a second facilitator present, although we recommend limiting numbers to 35 participants to ensure everyone can benefit from group interaction during the session. Online sessions are suitable for larger groups.

Who will be facilitating our training session?

Our training sessions are led by Miriam Saffer, founder of Illuminate Inclusion and consultant in inclusion and neurodiversity.

Are you able to run your training sessions online?

Our one-hour introductory sessions are designed for both online and in-person delivery. We do recommend that half- and full-day training takes place in person wherever possible to allow you to benefit from maximal engagement and interaction. However, all our training packages can be adapted for online delivery.

How much does training cost?

The price of sessions will vary depending on the specific needs. For guidance, our introductory sessions start from £195 and our half-day workshops start from £545. For more details and to receive a quote, please contact us directly.

Is there any funding available to cover the cost of training?

If you have employees in your business who need additional support, funding may be available through an Access to Work grant to cover the cost of training as well as any other support they may need. We are able to offer guidance and support on how to access this funding so please get in touch if you would like to discuss this option.

Where are you based? Are you training and consultancy services available outside your local area?

We are based in North London but can offer services throughout the UK and as well as abroad where appropriate. For training packages of at least half a day, we are able to travel to a wider range of locations (travel expenses may apply) and our services are also available online.

Individual and Parent FAQs

I’m not sure what service I need or whether you’re able to help. Can I speak to someone before committing to anything?

Absolutely! We offer 20 minute free consultation calls for all potential new clients so we can discuss your needs and what we might be able to do to help. If we’re not the right team to support you, we’ll always be honest and point you in the right direction of someone we think would be more suitable.

What training and qualifications do your team have?

This really depends on the role of each member of the team and the services they provide. Our SEN consultants are qualified SENCOs and have Level 3 IPSEA training (or equivalent), our health and fitness professionals are all qualified personal trainers and our tutors are either teachers or experienced teaching assistants. Everyone in the team has a minimum of 5 years experience of working with individuals with neurodivergent conditions or SEND in their area of work. If you have any questions or concerns about finding a suitably qualified professional, please let us know and we’d be happy to help you.

How long are tutoring and coaching sessions?

Session lengths will always vary depending on individual needs but, on average, tutoring sessions last 30-60 minutes and we would recommend 1-2 sessions per week. Coaching sessions for young people (under the age of 16) last for 60 minutes, consisting of 45 minutes with the young person only plus 15 minutes with a parent/carer. Coaching sessions for adults are either 60 or 90 minutes.

Can tutoring and coaching take place online?

For children under the age of 11, we recommend that all sessions take place in person. For older children, teenagers and adults, sessions can be either in-person or online.

How much do you charge?

Prices will vary depending on the service you require and individual needs. For guidance, tutoring sessions start from £35 for 30 minutes or £55 for an hour. Coaching prices start from £90 per session. For our inclusive fitness options, personal training starts from £35 per session online (typically 30-45 minutes) and £50 per session in person (typically 45-60 minutes).

Where are you based? Are you able to provide support outside your local area?

We are based in North London but can offer services throughout the UK and as well as abroad where appropriate. Our tuition, coaching, fitness and consultancy services are all available online.
